From November 14, 2024 to February 15, 2025: “Hommage” exhibition, a series of 70 unpublished prints by photojournalist Camille Lepage, murdered in the Central African Republic in the exercise of her profession 10 years ago. A tribute made possible thanks to the Association “Camille Lepage – On est ensemble”.
Géopolis is a photojournalism and education center created in 2017 by a small team of geopolitics enthusiasts. Through the combination of photographic exhibitions, events and radio programs, it aims to question current events. Located at the Ateliers des Tanneurs in an original location, the center offers a new cycle of exhibitions every two months dedicated to current or historical themes. These exhibitions present the work of both great photojournalists and young talents.
In addition to the exhibitions, the center has developed a dense event program to decipher current events as well as a whole range of educational activities aimed at the general public and particularly young people (notably radio workshops).
Géopolis also offers a series of traveling exhibitions and online educational platforms (see digital exhibitions tab). Exhibitions notably enriched with archive images thanks to a partnership with Sonuma-RTBF. The centre also maintains long-term partnerships, notably with Cosmopolis, the international centre of the city of Nantes with which numerous projects are jointly organised.
Since 2020, a radio dimension has been added to these activities, with Géopolis having been responsible for launching the Brussels branch of the local/European media outlet Euradio. As part of this project, we have invested in a second location: L’Ascenseur, which houses the editorial staff but also a café-concert open on Thursdays and Fridays.
